Set sail in style with The Helm, a unique handmade crossbody bag created from a pair of upcycled mid-blue denim jeans.
The front flap features a striking machine-embroidered ship’s wheel, together with the words ‘The Helm’, giving this bag a nautical character and a wonderfully individual look.
I have reused both of the original jeans pockets in the design. One pocket has been carefully stitched onto the outside of the bag, providing a handy place for keeping smaller items close at hand, while the second original jeans pocket has been incorporated into the inside of the bag.
Inside, the bag is lined with beautiful 100% cotton blue paisley fabric, adding a pretty contrast to the denim and giving the bag a lovely finished feel.
The adjustable blue shoulder strap features a white tracking design and allows the bag to be worn comfortably across the body. It is finished with a combination of gold and silver-coloured hardware.
